Frontpoint gives you a lot of options when it comes to protecting your home. They have packages that contain everything from entryway sensors, motion detectors, security cameras, and much more. They also have three different monthly plans to choose from. We'll take a closer look at these later in this Frontpoint security review.

It is worth noting that Frontpoint is not available on Amazon. If you’d like to purchase from them, it’s best to do so by visiting their official website.
What Else Do You Need to Know in a Frontpoint Security Review?
Obviously, there are a few other things you should know in a Frontpoint security review. Here are a few helpful facts that’ll help you decide if this is the security system for you.
What are some of its most notable features?
In a Frontpoint security review, it’s important to review its features first and foremost Frontpoint security has a few features that set it apart from similar security systems.
One of its most impressive features is its ability to integrate with Alexa. That allows you to quickly arm or disarm your security system with just the sound of your voice. You can even use Alexa to record video clips or pan individual cameras.
Additionally, Frontpoint has a fascinating feature known as smash and crash protection. That means it will automatically send alerts if an intruder destroys the panel. Some intruders might try to disable a security system this way, which makes this an incredibly useful feature.
Frontpoint’s cameras also take still images or live stream video to your phone. Afterward, you can save these videos to the cloud.
On top of all this, Frontpoint also has add-on heat, smoke, or carbon monoxide sensors. You can even use it to automate your lighting, heating, and air-conditioning, which can help lower your energy bills.
What are the different plans you can choose from?
Frontpoint has three different plans to choose from. The most basic of these plans is the Protection Plan. It also includes wireless connectivity. That is useful in case someone decides to cut the powerlines. In this situation, you will still have protection.
The next level up is the Interactive plan.It also provides some features that allow you to protect your home even when you’re not there. You can arm or disarm the security system from your app, and you also get notifications by text. This plan also includes the crash and smash protection feature.
Frontpoint’s most advanced plan is its Ultimate plan. With this plan, you get all of the previously mentioned features, plus a few others. You get the ability to live stream your cameras from your app and access to your entire history of images and videos. Furthermore, you also get light control and night vision.
Is it difficult to install?
Of course, many security systems are simply a pain to set up, and they require professional installation. But with Frontpoint, this is never an issue. In fact, every Frontpoint security review we’ve researched made a point to mention how easy it is to install.
A DIY-er can easily have it ready to go within 30 minutes. Everything comes pre-programmed, so it’s ready to use right out of the box. Also, you won’t have to use any complicated power tools. Virtually all of their products peel and stick directly to the wall.
In addition to this, Frontpoint has excellent customer service that you can access online or by phone in case you get stuck during the installation process. Once you've got everything installed, Frontpoint is exceptionally easy to use. As mentioned before, you can control most features by using your voice with Alexa.
How Much Does It Cost?

The cost of Frontpoint security can vary quite dramatically. In addition to the previously mentioned monthly plans, Frontpoint has numerous equipment packages to choose from.
That's quite a bit more expensive than the average security system, and you could obviously end up spending a lot of money. Every Frontpoint security review we researched mentioned this as a potential drawback. However, many people will say that Frontpoint’s effectiveness, ease of use, and wide range of features make it worth the extra money.
It’s also worth noting that Frontpoint does require you to sign a one or three-year contract. Once you sign, you only have 30 days to back out. Again, many people have found Frontpoint to be a worthwhile security system in spite of this.
How We Reviewed
In these reviews, we used the following products’ official websites as our prime source of information. Sites such as SafeHome.org and Best Home Security Companies were other major sources. Additionally, we based much of our opinion on customer reviews from sites like Consumer Affairs and Amazon.
For these reviews, we looked at a number of essential
qualities. These include basic features, ease of use, effectiveness, and customer service. Price was also a significant factor in these reviews.
How Does It Compare to Other Security Systems?
Obviously, no Frontpoint security review would be complete without taking a look at its competitors. Let’s see how it stacks up against a few of the other major security systems on the market today.
ADT is among one of the oldest and most popular home security systems on the market. Depending on your needs, you can choose between one of four plans. Each plan comes with motion and wireless sensors, whereas more advanced plans also have door entry sensors, window, sensors, smoke detectors, and more.
You can also get home automation which allows you to arm or disarm your home when you’re away and indoor surveillance cameras that you can live stream from the ADT Pulse app.
Many customers have been happy with ADT. Several felt that the security system makes them feel safe, and others said it successfully protected their home from intruders and other potential disasters.
Unfortunately, there were also many people who had issues with their customer service. Quite a few customers had their contracts automatically renewed after they'd canceled and some were even charged for their homes after they’d moved out.
That makes them slightly cheaper than Frontpoint.
While they offer many of the same services, ADT’s customer service is nowhere near as effective as Frontpoint’s. With that in mind, you may be better off spending some extra money.
Vivint is another well-known brand in the home safety market. With Vivint, you can arm or disarm your home using your cellular connection. They even have two-way talk, so you can talk to a representative in case you accidentally set off your alarm.
Their Sky App is also one of the most highly-rated security apps. It allows you to control virtually everything from your phone. That includes watching the live feed from security cameras, programming your motion detectors, or even talking to someone who’s on your front porch.
Most of Vivint’s customers absolutely loved the Sky App. They appreciated the ability to control everything from the comfort of their phone, and they also enjoyed the professional installation process.
But once again, customer service was a problem. As with ADT, several people continued getting charged after their contracts expired. Some also had issues with equipment malfunctioning or not working correctly.
Vivint’s Sky app does make them a worthy competitor, but Frontpoint still wins in terms of customer service. You’ll have to decide which of these is more relevant to you.
- WIRELESS KEYPAD It doesn’t need to be plugged in, so you can place it anywhere you like. We recommend by the front door.
- ENTRY SENSOR We use the entry sensors to guard the front, back and garage doors, plus three large sliding glass windows.
- MOTION SENSOR We use the motion sensors to cover two main rooms. That way, no matter where an intruder enters, the sensors will detect them as they try to pass through.
- 105DB SIREN Really loud. As in, front row at Metallica loud. As in, intruders won’t stick around loud. And it even works outside so you can alert the whole block
- SMOKE DETECTOR This smoke detector senses before a full-blown fire breaks out. It sounds a full system alarm, and with monitoring, we’ll call you and dispatch the fire department.
SimpliSafe is another potential option for home security. Like Frontpoint, it features easy, DIY installation. Also similar to Frontpoint is its SmashSafe feature, which sets off an alarm if something or someone destroys your base station.
Additionally, they have a mobile app that offers home automation. That gives you the ability to arm or disarm your home remotely, check live security feeds, and receive alerts when someone enters or leaves your home.
Many customers loved how easy this system is to set up and install. Most of them got started without any problems. They also appreciated how affordable it is.
However, some customers also questioned its effectiveness. There were a few instances of alarms not going off when they should have. There were even moments when alarms would go off, but no one would respond. That made some customers feel like they weren’t really getting monitored as promised.
Again, SimpliSafe is very affordable, and it has many of the same features as Frontpoint. Unfortunately, you do have to question how effective they will be in protecting your home.
Frontpoint Security Pros and Cons
As you’ve seen in this Frontpoint security review, Frontpoint has a lot of great things going for it. Its wide range of features allow you to protect your home even when you’re not there, and its integration with Alexa makes it very easy to use. It’s also highly customizable, easy to install and has excellent customer service.
Most of its faults are relatively minor. The most important of these is that it can get pretty expensive. You’re also locked in a longterm contract for one or three years if you decide to go with them. But again, many will say that Frontpoint’s advantages more than make up for these issues.
Is Frontpoint the Security System You’re Looking For?
In this Frontpoint security review, we took a close look at all the reasons why Frontpoint is one of the most highly rated security systems on the market today. It has an imposing array of unique features, it’s incredibly easy to use, and its customer service always has your back. It could be precisely what you’re looking for in a DIY security system.
The only thing that might hold you back is the price. While Frontpoint does have some very affordable options, it can get pretty expensive if you want to take advantage of its best features.
But then again, we all know you get what you pay for; if you want the best security you can find, Frontpoint may very well be the system for you.
